Arsenal are considering a £5million move for Croatia midfielder Marcelona Brozovic after watching him play against Italy, Mirror reports.
The Dinamo Zagreb ace was being monitored by Gunners scouts and the club are now set to make a bid during the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old was impressive during his country’s 1-1 draw with Italy before the game was called off due to crowd trouble at the San Siro.
Now Arsenal must decide whether to push for a move, as the deep-lying playmaker is being targeted by AC Milan and several Bundesliga sides.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is however extremely keen on Brozovic, who he sees as the heir to defensive midfielder Mikel Arteta to start plays in the middle of the park.
The Gunners do however have to prioritize their spending on defenders, especially with the current injuries in the London club’s back-line.
Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels was being targeted, but Arsenal were priced out of the move when the German club slapped a £47million price tag on his head.
