Arsenal to make surprise move for Premier League striker

Arsenal have identified Watford hotshot Odion Ighalo as a potential summer signing to bolster their attacking options, according to The Daily Mail.

The Nigerian hitman has been in excellent form for the Vicarage Road side, firing the newly promoted side into the top half in an impressive start to the new campaign.

The Emirates Stadium faithful have urged Arsene Wenger to splurge on a world-class centre forward for a number of years, with question marks whether Olivier Giroud can fire the club to glory.

Ighalo has formed a formidable strike parring with Troy Deeney for Watford, with the pair netting the goals to get the club into the Premier League.

The African attacker has continued where he left off in the Championship, scoring 14 goals in the top flight this term.

The report suggests that Wenger has been impressed with Ighalo’s clinical edge and physical presence, with a potential bid at the end of the season.
