Arsenal to move for Barcelona ace after Wenger scouting mission

Arsenal are preparing a move for Barcelona ace Sergi Roberto, after Arsene Wenger was impressed whilst watching him in action during the Copa Del Ray clash with Levante, according to the Metro.

The Gunners boss was spotted at Heathrow airport by Arsenal fans earlier in the day, apparently on route to watch one of his top transfer targets in action.

And after being snapped in the stands during Barca’s cup game, reports in Spain suggested he was there to watch the highly-rated Roberto.

The midfielder has found first team opportunities limited at the Nou Camp in recent seasons, and may well be open to a switch to north London.

Roberto is a graduate of the famed Barca youth academy, and very much fits Wenger’s style of football.

The 21-year-old is a stylish midfielder with an excellent range of passing, and put in showed those qualities in front of the watching Gunners boss.

He is valued at around £6million, and has made no secret of his desire to quit Barcelona in search of first team football.
