Arsenal are believed to be back in the race to sign Manchester United target Edinson Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain, according to the Metro, as reported by the Daily Star.
The 28-year-old has now emerged as another striking candidate for manager Arsene Wenger after a halt in his efforts to sign Real Madrid star Karim Benzema.
His only major signing of the summer is the £11million deal which saw Petr Cech complete a move from rivals Chelsea.
However, the Gunners face major competition from United as manager Louis van Gaal is also monitoring the situation of similar targets.
The Dutchman is looking to reinforce his side with another attacker in order to fill the void left by the earlier departures of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao.
