Arsenal are readying a £22 million bid for Real Madrid’s Isco and want to bring the talented Spaniard to North London in January, according to Metro.
The Gunners did not add any outfield players to their squad in the off-season, with Petr Cech’s arrival the only purchase that Arsene Wenger’s men made in the summer transfer window.
However, the Emirates Stadium outfit have been linked with Isco over a number of years and it appears that they are ready to make a move for him mid-season.
The former Malaga man is an supremely gifted central midfielder but has the likes of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and James Rodriguez for competition at the Santiago Bernabeu.
As such, there is a potentially opportunity that Isco would be willing to leave the Spanish capital in order to get regular first-team football elsewhere.
Arsenal have a host of central midfielders at their disposal but Isco would add a top-quality option for Wenger.
