Arsenal have turned their attentions to a possible January deal for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, according to reports from the Metro.
The 22-year-old has now emerged as another striking target following a very quiet summer window for manager Arsene Wenger.
His only major deal from the previous transfer market is the purchase of Petr Cech from Chelsea, meaning he failed to add a single outfield player to his side.
The Gunners were linked with both Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani and Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, but moves for the duo failed to materialize.
Wenger also has very limited options in his front line, with Olivier Giroud the only available striker after Danny Welbeck was forced to undergo a knee surgery and will be out of action for the next few months.
Despite only signing a new deal back in June, he could still be the subject of a bid from the Premier League giants as they look to add to their attack.
