Arsenal face the prospect of a brutal thrashing as they go into their last 16 tie against the European Champions, Barcelona.
The Catalan club are 32 games unbeaten as it stands and their attacking triumvirate of Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar have scored more league goals than all but two European clubs. Suarez is scoring at over a goal a game this season and, remarkably, Messi is being outshone by his two attacking partners.
On the other hand, Arsenal have hit their typical mid-season blip, with even Mesut Ozil’s form dropping of late. and look set for a thrashing at the hands of one of the best club sides we have ever seen.
Arsene Wenger has begun to see some players return from injury, most notably Danny Welbeck, but the French manager still does not have a full strength squad to choose from. Olivier Giroud has, as he has to, been talking up the Gunners’ chances of success in this tie.
