Chelsea striker Diego Costa has declared that he is certain to play against Arsenal in this weekend’s crunch Premier League fixture, Mirror reports.
The Brazilian-born goal machine – who already has eight goals in six league games – played all 90 minutes during the Blues’ Champions League clash with Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday despite concerns over a niggling hamstring injury.
Costa has therefore deemed himself fit for the London derby this Sunday, before warning the Gunners he is ready to continue his scoring rout.
The former Atletico Madrid hitman stated: “Of course I will play against Arsenal. I am certain.
“I played 90 minutes [in Lisbon] and now I can have a rest. I do not see a problem.
“There are a few niggles that are annoying me, but I am working to treat them during the week with the physios and the medical staff. Every day I feel closer.
“To play 90 minutes suggests I am okay. Every time I play I feel better. The manager asks me regularly how I am to make sure I am in the best possible shape. I will keep working to return to complete fitness.’’
Chelsea currently sit on top of the Premier League with 16 points from a possible 18.
