Arsenal are said to be keen on Sochaux right-back Sebastien Corchia with boss Arsene Wenger pondering making a summer bid, according to Goal.
The 22-year-old has impressed in Ligue 1 this season and has attracted the attention of several scouts from across Europe.
Wenger is always on the lookout for emerging talent, and particularly from his native France, and Corchia is a player he believes could be a big success in the Premier League.
Rated at £5million, the defender would fall within the Gunners’ price-range and a summer bid has been mooted, although Wenger could face competition from other clubs for his signature.
Arsenal right-back position has looked weak at times this season, with Bacary Sagna missing parts of the campaign through injury leaving Carl Jenkinson without backup.
The Arsenal boss may need to find a replacement for Bacary Sagna, who has yet to sign a new deal, and Corchia could be a viable alternative.
Corchia, who is known for his attacking and free kick ability, can also move up and play midfield. He is a product of the renowned Clairefontaine academy in France.
Tottenham are also said to be interested in the defender, but it’s hard to see Corchia wanting to challenge Kyle Walker for the starting place.
