Aston Villa’s Fabian Delph is ready to be given a bigger contract at the club after he only recently capped his first England start with owner Randy Lerner to keep him in the side, Daily Star reports.
The 24-year-old put on a great display for the Three Lions in their 2-0 Euro 2016 qualifier against Switzerland and is now on the verge of picking up a new four-year deal worth £10million.
It is said that after negotaitions have completed, Delph will be paid around £50,000-a-week with the midfielder believed to owe the club a lot after they took good care of him during his two long-term injury spells.
With his contract expiring before the start of the next campaign, Lerner wants to make sure he can secure the services of his star before bigger sides begin to steal him away with a big money offer.
He said: “I’d love to be here for the rest of my career but it’s not up to me.”
