Aston Villa boss desperate for starlet to sign new deal

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has hinted that midfielder Marc Albrighton will sing a new contract with the club this week, as reported by Sky Sports.

Albrighton has been a shining light in a pretty miserable season for Villa, with fans turning on boss Lambert and owner Randy Lerner.

Villa are renowned for their impressive youth system and Abrighton is another one off the production line, however fears have grown this season that suitors could make a move in the summer.

Lambert is desperate to keep the England under-21 international and believes a deal has already been done to secure his long term future.

“Regarding Marc, that will get taken care of, I’m pretty sure pretty quickly,” said Lambert.

“I think Paul (Faulkner) has spoken to his agent a couple of weeks back. I think Marc’s relaxed. He’ll be fine. It will get done.”
