Aston Villa fans have been handed a bit of good news, with the club landing Jordan Amavi in a considerable deal.
The 21-year-old has moved to the Birmingham-based club for an undisclosed fee.
Villa boss Tim Sherwood has stated that he is delighted to have wont he race for the defender’s signature.
“I’m delighted to have secured the services of someone we consider to be a terrific young player,” he told the club’s official website.
“Jordan has been one of the outstanding players in Ligue 1 and is still very young and can become even better.
“There were a lot of clubs after him this summer so we are really pleased to welcome him to the Club.”
Amavi moves to Villa for French south coast club Nice, where he has been in the first team over the last number of seasons.
The left-back has also represented France under-21’s on a number of occasions and has been a consistent player throughout his nation’s age-grade levels.
The news will be a rare bit of positive media for the Villa Park club, who have endured their captain Fabian Delph doing a dramatic u-turn to sign for Manchester City and are seemingly set to lose talismanic striker Christian Benteke to Liverpool.
