Aston Villa have confirmed that they have signed Rudy Gestede and Jordan Veretout ahead of next season, as per the club’s official website.
The 26-year-old striker joins the Birmingham-based outfit from Blackburn Rovers, signing a five-year deal with Tim Sherwood’s men.
The Benin international hit 20 goals in the Championship last season and his arrival will go some way to nullifying the exit of Christian Benteke, who has signed for Liverpool.
Veretout’s capture is an impressive one given that Tottenham and Liverpool have been consistently linked with the talented midfielder.
The 22-year-old is renowned for his range of passing and vision, with Veretout signing a five-year deal also and joining from French club Nantes.
He has represented his nation at age-grade level and won the under-20’s World Cup with France.
Villa have been undergoing a major transformation this summer, with the likes of Jordan Amavi, Idrissa Gueye and Jordan Ayew all moving to Villa Park also.
