Aston Villa are considering the idea of signing Manchester United star Ashley Young if he fails to earn himself a new deal, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The 30-year-old will see his contract expire next summer, and with a number of players in the squad already being given an extension, he is beginning to feel worried.
He was tipped to be sold upon the arrival of manager Louis van Gaal ahead of the previous campaign, but proved everyone wrong with a string of impressive performances.
However, with United adding a number of new attackers into the squad this summer, Young may lose his regular starting role on the left flank.
Villa have been linked with a host of players during the current window and could now negotiate a return for their former player who completed a move to Old Trafford back in 2011.
He showed consistent form for the Red Devils last term, featuring 29 times in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing a further six assists.
