Aston Villa are plotting a move to sign Tottenham Hotspur target Angelo Ogbonna from Juventus to reinforce their squad for the upcoming campaign, Metro reports.
The 27-year-old is said to be unhappy with his limited role for the Italian champions, often playing backup to Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, and Andrea Barzagli.
Due to his current situation in Serie A, Villa boss Tim Sherwood is hoping he can lure the centre-back to his side for a reduced fee.
Sherwood is looking to add more depth into his squad following the arrival of right-back Micah Richards on a free transfer.
Ogbonna was given 18 league starts this term and was used a further seven times as a substitute, while only featuring for his club in the Champions League on one occasion.
