Veretout has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks, with English giants Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool both interested in the midfielder.
However, it is the Villans who are set to land the 22-year-old after Nantes president Waldemar Kita revealed that Veretout is close to joining a great English club.
“We are basically agreed on everything,” Kita said.
“I am obliged to give in. He is 22, he has a big future and he will play for a great English club.”
Villa have received a mass influx of funds following the sale of Christian Benteke to Liverpool and Fabian Delph to Manchester City, with Benteke departing for a massive £32.5million while Delph left for £10million.
A defensive midfielder by trade, Veretout played 40 games in all competitions last season, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists.
