Arsenal star Santi Cazorla is once again being targeted by Atletico Madrid as they prepare to replace outgoing star Arda Turan, according to reports from the Express.
Turan is a top transfer target for Premier League pair Manchester United and Chelsea, with his agent confirming that the Turkey international is set to leave the La Liga giants.
Atletico manager Diego Simeone was interested in the services of Cazorla ahead of the January window, but the midfielder admitted that he was keen on remaining with the Gunners.
However, the club may now reignite their efforts to sign the Spain international if they receive the expected £29million funds from the potential sale of Turan this summer.
Cazorla was said to be feeling unsettled at the start of the previous campaign, but a string of top displays in the absence of Mesut Ozil seems to have quashed any exit rumours.
His performances led him to become a vital member of the club’s revival heading into the second half of the season, with the player making a total of 53 appearances in all competitions last term.
