Atletico Madrid are prepared to accept £20million for Manchester United target Joao Miranda, according to the Express.
The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move to Man United of late after reports suggested that Miranda is the Red Devils’ priority target in the January window.
With the 30-year-old’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, Atletico are keen to not lose him for free next summer and are willing to accept a bid £4million less than his £24million release clause.
Miranda was close to a move to Old Trafford during the summer, and is still keen to press the matter with the Atletico hierarchy.
However, it seems that the La Liga champions are prepared to let Miranda leave, especially with the emergence of Uruguayan starlet Jose Gimenez coming through their ranks.
United have been in good form of late, winning six consecutive games despite a high number of injuries which sees them sit at third in the league.
However manager Louis van Gaal is hoping to sign a centre-back next month, with Miranda seen as an adequate alternative to first-choice Mats Hummels.
