West Bromwich Albion have rejected an improved second bid from West Ham United for midfielder Graham Dorrans.
The Scotland international was the subject of one unsuccessful bid – believed to be around £3million – at the end of the last season.
The Premier League-bound club insisted at the time they were not looking to break up a promotion-winning side and technical director Dan Ashworth has reiterated their desire to keep hold of Dorrans.
The 22-year-old midfielder netted 18 goals for the Baggies last season.
"Graham Dorrans is not for sale," said Ashworth."I have stressed several times since we achieved promotion, our aim is to retain our core players and try to strengthen our squad around them.
"Graham signed a new contract until June 2014 in January and he remains a key member of our squad."
