Everton have agreed a new five-year contract with Leighton Baines and completed the signing of Strasbourg teenager Magaye Gueye.
Baines, 25, still had two years remaining on an existing deal signed when he joined the Toffees from Wigan Athletic in 2007.
However, he has been rewarded for a consistent last season which almost ended with a place in England's World Cup squad.
"I'm more than happy to be staying here and committing to the club and it was nice for the club to want me to stay," he told the club's official website.
"It was simple – it would have been done quicker if I hadn't been away on holiday.
"I still had two years left so wasn't really thinking about it but the manager said to me at the end of last season that I had done well and he wanted to reward me with a new contract, which was great."
Meanwhile, Everton have also completed the signing of France Under-21 striker Gueye from Strasbourg for an undisclosed fee.
The 19-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year contract at Goodison Park.
The Toffees have already added two other strikers in Jermaine Beckford and Joao Silva to their ranks so far this summer.
