Barcelona join £75m race for Chelsea star

Barcelona have joined the summer race to sign £75m-rated Chelsea star Thibault Courtois, according to reports from the Fulham Chronicle.

The 23-year-old is also being targeted by Real Madrid after the La Liga giants looks to have ended their chase for Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.

Barca have entered the race for Courtois amid concerns over the future of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, with the keeper being linked with a move to both Liverpool and Manchester City.

Ter Stegen is said to be unhappy with his very limited playing time given that manager Luis Enrique is only using him in cup competitions.

However, the Spanish giants may need to table an offer around the £75million region if the Blues are to even consider the potential sale of their star player.

The Belgium international has seen his side struggle this season and has even revealed that he is unsure where his future lies at the moment.

“I do not say ‘yes’, I do not say ‘no’,” he said.

“I do not know. I still have three years on my contract. We must see what Chelsea want.”

He has already featured 26 times in all competitions for his side this term, but only managed to keep five clean sheets.
