Barcelona keen on Chelsea ace

Barcelona have entered the race to sign Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, according to The Daily Mail.

The versatile right-back or centre-half has been one of the west London club’s most consistent performers over recent seasons, and played a part in the Blues’ FA Cup and Champions League double in 2011-12.

Former boss Jose Mourinho has been linked with a move for Ivanovic, with Real Madrid looking to bolster their defensive options for next season.

However, with Barcelona’s main transfer target Thiago Silva keen to stay at AC Milan, the Catalan giants are weighing up a move for Ivanovic also.

However, Chelsea are believed to value their star defender at around £23 million, with the player’s future set to be decided in forthcoming weeks.
