Barcelona are prepared to sack manager Luis Enrique in order to block any move for Lionel Messi to Chelsea, Daily Star reports.
The Argentina captain has been heavily linked with a move away from the Noun Camp of late, with the Blues favourites to land the attacker.
Messi has been informed that Chelsea will offer him a mega six-year deal worth almost £250million, with the club also looking to spend £200million to match his release clause.
The 27-year-old and boss Enrique has had a falling out with the two involved in a training ground incident, and Messi already wants a replacement for the former Spain international.
The four-time Ballon D’or winner has named Frank Rijkaard as the ideal candidate to take over the Barcelona helm, as the Dutchman was the manager who gave Messi his professional debut.
However Blues assistant manager Steve Holland has stated it would be extremely difficult to bring Messi over due to the Financial Fair Play regulations.
“When you see the numbers that have been mentioned around the Messi deal I would think it looks impossible under FFP,” he exclaimed.
