Barcelona star Neymar has confirmed that he was in talks with Manchester United during the summer, according to reports from the Mirror.
Neymar was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in the transfer window, but if any deal came through it would have smashed the current transfer record currently held by Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale.
And United were reluctant to pay the massive sum, despite the Brazil international considering a move to the Premier League.
The 23-year-old revealed that he did indeed speak with the Red Devils, but a deal did not come to fruition.
“We had conversations, but there was nothing concrete.” he told ESPN.
“I heard that there were offers but none were made to me.”
Neymar is now set to begin talks over a new contract with Barca due to a clause inserted into his contract which states that it can be renegotiated in the third season.
The attacker arrived from Santos in the summer of 2013, going on to score 57 goals in 97 games for the Blaugrana.
