Barcelona ace Neymar has urged the club to sign Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho, according to reports from the Mirror.
Neymar and Coutinho have been close friends ever since their days in the Brazil youth team, and the Barca star wants the Reds midfielder to join him at the Nou Camp.
Neymar said: “I see many Brazilian players with quality today.
“But one that I like and I think I could play here is Coutinho.
“He has the style of Barcelona.”
The current European champions signed another former Liverpool star in Luis Suarez last summer, and could make another move in the near future to secure the services of Coutinho.
However, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers will be reluctant to lose another one of his stars, with the departure of Suarez seen as the reason for Liverpool’s fall from grace the past season.
With the Uruguayan leading the line, Rodgers almost guided the Merseyside club to Premier League glory, only losing out to Manchester City in the final few games.
Coutinho, 23, made 52 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring eight goals.
