Manchester United have been boosted in their chase to sign Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger after revelations made by his manager, according to reports from the Express.
The 30-year-old is one of United’s top transfer candidates for the upcoming campaign as they look to find a player capable of aiding veteran midfielder Michael Carrick in the middle of the park.
Bayern boss Pep Guardiola has revealed that he is looking forward to once again working with the World Cup winner, but will not force him to stay at the Allianz Arena.
“Of course I’m planning to work with Basti next season. But he must decide what he does alone. I’ve told him, ‘The future depends on you’,” he said.
It is believed that the Red Devils are already in contact with the player’s agent regarding a potential £10million move despite the central midfielder admitting that he is keen on winning more silverware with the Bundesliga champions.
He featured for his side a total of 28 times this past season, scoring eight goals while providing a further eight assists.
Apart from the Germany international, manager Louis van Gaal is also heavily linked with a deal to sign Southampton ace Morgan Schneiderlin.
