Bayern Munich have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Southampton star Sadio Mane, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
Mane was heavily linked with a move away from the St. Mary’s during the summer, with the Red Devils reportedly having an offer turned down by the Saints.
Despite the rejection, United are likely to continue their pursuit of the Senegal international when the transfer window reopens in January, with manager Louis van Gaal already confirming his need to add some pace to his attack.
However, Bundesliga champions Bayern are also in the hunt for Mane, who has been one of Southampton’s most potent players this season.
The 23-year-old seems keen on making the step up to a bigger club, although it is unlikely that he will make a move in the January window unless the Saints receive an offer in the region of £40million.
Mane has made 19 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring seven goals and supplying seven assists.
