Bayern Munich keeping tabs on Dzeko

Bayern Munich are ready to make a bid for Manchester City attacker Edin Dzeko, who is out-of-favour at the Premier League champions.

Sky Sports indicate that the Champions League finalists are keen to bolster their options up front, with Ivica Olic leaving the Allianz Arena due to being out of contract.

Jupp Heynckes’ men have identified the Bosnian hitman as a potential goalscoring aid to Mario Gomez, and are weighing up a summer bid.

Dzeko started his time at the Etihad stadium slowly, before finding form at the start of the 2011-12 campaign. However, with Mario Balotelli, Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero seemingly ahead of the eastern European in Roberto Mancini’s preferences, a move this summer could be on the cards.

Bayern know Dzeko well from his time in the Bundesliga at Wolfsburg, but City will be eager to recuperate as much of the £27 million they paid for the striker as possible.
