Manchester United have been halted in their chase to sign Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben after he revealed his intentions to remain at the club, Express reports.
The 31-year-old was linked with a switch to Old Trafford ever since manager Louis van Gaal took charge at the club and is still being eyed as the January window edges closer.
With the Dutch boss also revealing his intentions to sign a winger, Robben was believed to be the target of a potential £50million bid from the Premier League giants.
Despite Robben working with Van Gaal on a multiple occasions, the Netherlands international has come out to reveal that he is very happy in Germany and is likely to play out his contract in the Bundesliga.
“I never thought about a transfer,” he said.
“I am happy in Munich – my family is happy in Munich.
“My contract runs until 2017. You can’t look too far forward in football, but everything is fine at the moment – I hope things continue this way.”
The winger has featured in seven league matches so far this term, scoring three goals while providing another one assist.
Apart from a move to sign Robben, the Red Devils have also been linked with Real Madrid duo Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.
