Belgian to confirm Liverpool move after snubbing north London duo

Divock Origi is poised to complete his move to Liverpool shortly, after snubbing Arsenal, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Belgian World Cup star has told the Reds he wants to join them, and a £12.5million deal is expected to be completed in the coming days.

Origi’s father has flown to Boston to meet Liverpool officials, in the hope of completing a deal that will see the forward loaned back to Lille for another season.

The striker has taken almost three weeks to decide on a new club, having been given a guided tour of Anfield and the clubs Melwood training ground by Brendan Rodgers – just four days after Belgium were knocked out of the World Cup.

Rodgers outlined his plans for both the player and the club, but it was his patience in allowing Origi to consider offers from other clubs that looks to have sealed the deal.

Origi looks set to become the Reds seventh signing of the summer, with Rodgers close to breaking the £100million mark.

Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic, now look set to be joined shortly by Origi, Dejan Lovren and Loic Remy.
