Belgium ace keen on Tottenham switch

Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen has stated his intentions of playing in the Premier League and has not shied away from the prospect of playing for Tottenham Hotspur.

The 24 year old Belgian international was involved in Ajax’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in the Europa League, and is said to be on the radar of numerous Premier League clubs, such as Manchester City, Newcastle and Arsenal.

However, despite the huge interest, the Ajax centre back is reportedly interested in a move to White Hart Lane. Harry Redknapp was at Old Trafford to watch Ajax vs United and it seems as though he had his eyes set on the Ajax player.

The young Belgium international has complimented Tottenham’s positive run this season by calling them “an amazing club.”

Vertonghen said, “I think Tottenham are an amazing club and you see how well they are doing this season. They are the top three in England and that’s where I want to play.” Sun

With the likes of international team mates such as Vincent Kompany persuading him to move to the Premier League, Vertonghen is almost certain England would be the right move for him. “A lot of my colleagues from the national team play here and some are calling me to come” he said.

You can almost bank on him being a Premier League player next season, with Tottenham reportedly waiting for his arrival, the question still remains will he be at White Hart Lane next campaign.
