Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has admitted that any moves he makes in the summer transfer window are likely to be late on after the World Cup.

Benitez pledged his future to the Anfield club earlier in the week despite the continuing boardroom uncertainty which has resulted in the club being put up for sale.

The Spaniard does not yet know how much money he will have to spend to strengthen a squad that finished a disappointing seventh in the Premier League this season.

However, any moves he does make in the transfer market are likely to be after the World Cup in South Africa finishes in mid-July.

He explained:"We are working on our signings for the next transfer window.

"But now we have the added difficulty that the World Cup always brings.

"I have my ideas and I know what I want, but we just have to wait."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
