Spurs were seemingly cruising in finishing behind the Manchester clubs, but defeats to Arsenal, Manchester United and Everton have seen Arsene Wenger’s men close the gap on them to one point.
The left-back has stated that his team need to stop the rot, but will face difficult games before the end of the campaign.
“We started the game 45 minutes late. We conceded the goal in the first half and couldn’t come back,”” the defender told the club’s official website when quizzed about the 1-0 defeat to Everton at the weekend.
“When you want to finish third in the Premier League, every game is difficult.
“We have 10 more league games until the end of the season and for us, it will be 10 cup finals,” he concluded.
Tottenham take on Bolton in the FA Cup on Saturday, before entertaining Stoke in the Premier League the following Wednesday.
