Arsenal star David Ospina has been confirmed as a target for Besiktas following revelations made by their vice-president Ahmet Nur Cebi, Metro reports.
The 27-year-old goalkeeper is said to have already open talks with the Turkish giants earlier last week given his intentions to leave for more regular playing time.
Ospina saw his role under heavy threat following the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea during the summer, a move which has often seen him on the bench.
Ahmet Nur Cebi admitted that his club are keen to lure the Colombia international keeper to Turkey and are ready to step up their chase to acquire his services.
“We are interested in Ospina,” he said.
“Him and goalkeepers of his calibre but just because we want him does not mean he will come.
“We have to agree with his club and take his contract into consideration.”
He was earlier picked by manager Arsene Wenger to feature in cup matches, but a number of costly mistakes have now seen him lose his role in the squad.
The keeper failed to register a single Premier League appearance this term, but did manage to feature in two Champions League fixtures before eventually being dropped.
