As reported in an exclusive from The Scottish Sun, Chelsea have won the race to sign Rangers midfielder Billy Gilmour.

What's the story?

15 year old Gilmour has hit the headlines in recent weeks after it became apparent his future at the Ibrox club may not be set in stone. With big clubs around Europe now frequently poaching talent from clubs' youth systems, it's no surprise to see young talent have their head turned before they even make first team appearances.

The Scottish Sun report that despite interest from Barcelona and Arsenal, the talented midfielder has chosen to join Chelsea, with his family making it clear to the Gers that's where his future lies.

While they had been hopeful he may stay at Ibrox, Rangers admitted recently they had a £500,000 deal in place with the Stamford Bridge club should he decide to leave.

It's a blow to Rangers fan who had been keeping tabs on his progress, some believing he has what it takes to make an impression on the Pedro Caxinha's first team over the next 18 months.
