Blackburn, QPR and Wigan all busy on transfer deadline day

Sunderland have taken out-of-favour Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner on loan until the end of the season.

Owen Hargreaves has completed his shock move to Manchester City on a free transfer, after being released by rivals United at the tail-end of last season.

Blackburn have completed the double signing of Yakubu from Everton and Scott Dann from Birmingham, with the latter costing the Ewood Park club £5 million.

Fulham have completed the signing of former Juventus defender Zdenek Grygera on a free transfer, after the 31-year-old Czech Republic international was released from his contract in Turin.

Queens Park Rangers have secured the double signing of Shaun Wright-Phillips from Man City and Anton Ferdinand from Sunderland for a combined £8.5 million.

Wigan have signed Chelsea’s Dutch youngster Patrick Van Aanholt on a season long loan deal to boost their options in defence.

Wigan have also signed Celtic attacker Shaun Maloney on a two-year deal, for a fee believed to be in the region of £1 million.

Leeds attacker Max Gradel has moved across the channel to join Ligue 1 side St. Etienne.
