Daley Blind has insisted that he will 'play anywhere' for Manchester United as the Netherlands international prepares for a run in the team at centre-back.

Blind arrived at Man United from Ajax in 2014 as a defensive midfielder, but the 27-year-old has played in defence during the majority of his time with the 20-time English champions.

Former Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal made Blind one of his starting centre-backs during his time at Old Trafford, although the Dutchman has mainly played at left-back under Jose Mourinho this term.

Injuries to Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling means that Blind is currently playing alongside Eric Bailly at the heart of the Man United defence, and the former Ajax youngster has insisted that he 'feels confident in the position'.

He told Man United's official website:

"I played there a lot of times last season and I feel confident in the position, I feel good in the position and feel comfortable.

"I'm happy to play there again and of course everybody knows me, I play where the manager needs me, and I just want to play like anybody else."

Blind, who has started 28 times in all competitions this season, is again expected to be in the Man United starting XI for Thursday's Manchester derby against Manchester City in the Premier League.
