Liverpool and Arsenal are tipped to miss out on the January signing of Xherdan Shaqiri after his agent revealed that Bayern Munich isn’t keen on him making a switch, Mirror reports.
The 23-year-old continues to be a top attacking target for Brendan Rodgers as he is often being linked with a club exit due to his struggles to secure a regular first team spot amongst a host of top stars.
Arsene Wenger has also recently entered the race to try and lure the Swiss international to the Emirates after learning about his frustrations of being denied first team football at the Bundesliga club.
Shaqiri has started three games so far this season, appearing five more times as a substitute, but his agent, Ulisse Savini, stated it is still unlikely that he will leave the German champions, especially in the upcoming window.
He said: “It is a difficult situation right now.
“I doubt he can switch in January. He has played in the Champions League and cannot be used there [by another club].
“This complicates the agreement, since it would be for a lot of money. And I doubt that Bayern can find a replacement of his level.”
