Manchester United have received a huge blow ahead of their Premier League clash against Everton this weekend after star defender Daley Blind picked up an injury while on international duty with the Netherlands, according to reports from Telegraaf.
Blind has played an integral part for Louis van Gaal’s side this season, with the versatile midfielder being moulded into a centre-back partner for Chris Smalling in the Red Devils defence.
United have clawed back and are only one point off the coveted fourth spot, which is currently being occupied by fierce rivals Manchester City.
However, ahead of their crunch game against Everton this weekend, Van Gaal has received some bad news, with Blind forced out of Netherlands training, meaning the 26-year-old will miss his country’s game against England on Tueday.
His absence will be a big blow for Man United, who have a large number of players already on the injury table.
Marcos Rojo is thus set to be paired with Smalling in the middle, with space for a youngster opening up at left back.
