Tottenham Hotpsur star Nabil Bentaleb will miss up to six weeks of actions after undergoing surgery to fix a knee problem, Skysports reports.
The 21-year-old picked up the knock while playing for the Under-21 squad during the 3-0 win over Leicester City last week.
Despite the operation, Spurs believe that the midfielder could return in time for the final two matches of the Premier League campaign against Southampton and Newcastle United.
“The expected recovery and rehabilitation is likely to see him return to training in approximately six weeks,” the club revealed via Twitter.
He has been hit with a host of injury problems this season, starting two matches back in August before an ankle knock forced him to miss three months.
The club are currently pushing for the league title as they are sitting second on the table, five points behind leaders Leicester.
Bentaleb only managed to feature five times in the Premier League and another six times in the Europa League as well as the FA Cup this season, so far only managing to provide one assist in the process.
