Sunderland defender Titus Bramble has backed the club’s summer signings to lead the team to a successful season, and feels his side can get three points against Norwich on Monday night.
The Black Cats got their first victory of the campaign last Sunday, as they thumped Stoke 4-0 at the Stadium of Light, and Steve Bruce’s outfit will look to make it consecutive wins at Carrow Road.
Despite the obvious period of time it takes for new players to settle into a new team, Bramble feels his side can pose a threat with the additions in place.
“We’ve got a fantastic squad and some great players, particularly with the signings we’ve made. It will just take time to gel – but once we do gel, I think we’ll be a threat,” he told Mirror Football.
The central defender also claimed that it was a relief to get the three points against Stoke, and that the result has lifted some of the pressure off the Wearside outfit.
“It was plain to see that everything clicked last week. It’s taken a few games and it’s a shame it didn’t click from day one, but that happens.
“If you lose a couple of games the fans get restless – but inside the club, we know that everybody is 100 per cent behind the manager and everything would turn out all right.
“It’s not great when that restlessness is around, but that’s football and you have to deal with that,” he concluded.
