Manchester United are said to have made a deadline day offer for Corinthians star Alexandre Pato as confirmed by the player, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Sao Paulo, where his performance caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs that were keen to lure him back to Europe.
He spent five years with Serie A giants AC Milan, scoring a total of 51 goals from 117 appearances, but his career came to a halt following a number of injuries as he was eventually sent back to Brazil.
Pato admitted that he was happy with his football at the moment, but revealed that he only found out about the offer from United after deadline day.
“I won’t lie: two hours before the deadline I had a really good offer from Manchester United.
“I was expecting it, but actually only found out about it afterwards.
“My focus is here [at Sao Paulo]. I’d love to stay.”
Apart from the Red Devils, Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland were also said to be linked with the forward, but he instead declared that he had no intentions of leaving his current side.
