Manchester United star Angel di Maria has admitted to a friend that he regrets making the move to Old Trafford last summer, according to the Metro.
Di Maria broke the British transfer record when he made the switch from Real Madrid to United in August, costing the Red Devils a massive £59.7million to complete the move.
However, the former Benfica star’s time in Manchester hasn’t gone according to plan, with Di Maria struggling to adapt to his new environment.
And according to Manuel Esteban, a Spanish journalist, Di Maria has told a friend he regrets leaving the Santiago Bernabeu following some heavy criticism for his performances this season.
“Di Maria has confessed to someone at Real Madrid that he regrets joining Manchester United,” Esteban said.
The news is likely to alert Ligue-1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, who were heavily linked with a move the 26-year-old last summer.
Di Maria has played 20 games for Louis van Gaal’s side this season, scoring four goals and providing eight assists.
