Brown has no relegation fears

Hull City manager Phil Brown is convinced that his side have the character and quality to avoid being sucked into the relegation zone this term.

Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Arsenal left the Tigers just one point above the drop-zone and Brown's side will slip into the bottom three if Bolton Wanderers avoid defeat at Wigan Athletic on Monday evening.

City now face Manchester United (twice), Bolton, Chelsea and Tottenham inside the next six weeks but Brown remains upbeat.

He said:"No-one gave us a cat in hell's chance against Arsenal and I think we've surprised one or two people.

"I'm sure we'll be fine if we play like that every week, we've got plenty of optimism. We've got tough games in December and we've got tough games in January, people keep telling me that.

"We've had some tough times in the last two or three months, but I think we've turned around peoples' opinions in a positive manner."
