Burnley are closing in on the £6 million signing of Belgian midfielder Steven Defour, with The Sun stating that a deal is all but concluded.
The newly promoted side have been quiet in the transfer market this summer, with only a handful of new faces arriving at Turf Moor.
The guts of Sean Dyche’s side this season will be comprised from the same team that won the Championship last term, but experienced midfielder Defour looks to be one to be added.
The Belgium international was a player with great potential when he catapulted himself onto the scene at a young age, with Sir Alex Ferguson said to have been a real fan of the midfielder when he was manager of Manchester United.
Burnley will hope to avoid a relegation scrap this season as the fans look forward to welcoming Premier League football back to Turf Moor for 2016-17 – the Clarets start their campaign against Swansea at home today.
