Cardiff and Swansea City in transfer battle

Hector Moreno

Swansea City and Cardiff City are locked in battle over the singing of Espanol Hector Moreno, according to the Daily Mail.

Cardiff are yet to really get their spending up and underway despite purchasing record signing Andreas Cornelius for £7.5million.

The Bluebirds are keen to bolster their defence that was impressive in the Championship last season.

Swansea have already spent big money this summer on the likes of Jonjo Shelvey and Wilfried Bony but are expecting bids for captain Ashley Williams in the coming weeks as clubs get desperate and are willing to sell the Wales international for £12million.

Moreno is valued at £5million by the Barcelona based club but the South Wales pair are both set to make £4million bids to entice the Spanish strugglers into a sale.

La Liga has been hit with huge debts in recent years and Espanol are one of a number of clubs who are set to sell their best players in order to balance the books.
