Manager Mark Hughes has confirmed that PSV Eindhoven's Mexico international full-back Carlos Salcido is close to signing for Fulham.
Salcido has been identified as a replacement for Liverpool target Paul Konchesky and Hughes believes a deal to sign the South American is close to being completed.
The 30-year-old has spent four seasons in Dutch football and has won 77 international caps for Mexico.
Speaking after Wednesday's 6-0 League Cup rout of Port Vale, Hughes said:"We have made enquiries.
"He is a player I am interested in and we are hopeful it might be concluded.
"We are looking to have quality in all positions and left-back is a position we are a little light in.
"It is not a foregone conclusion that Paul Konchesky goes because we are looking to bring someone else in."
