Carlos Tevez in line for City start

Manchester City are to hand striker Carlos Tevez a lifeline and include him in the starting XI for their Premier League clash with Wigan on Saturday.

The South American attacker has been linked with a move away from Eastlands, as he has stated his desire to leave Roberto Mancini’s team.

Despite this, with Sergio Aguero travelling to India and Bangladesh on international duty, and the Champions League to start in midweek, Mancini looks set shuffle his pack by bringing Tevez back from the wilderness, and including him against The Latics.

Samir Nasri has trained despite breaking a bone in his hand whilst playing fro France, and should also play at the weekend.

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez knows his side will be in for a tough test at the Etihad Stadium, and has heralded City’s frontline ahead of the game.

“Watching them against Spurs, Swansea and the first half against Manchester United in the Community Shield, it is clear they are a side who have the arrogance to win titles. They were a joy to watch in their last game against Spurs. They are now near enough unplayable when they go forward,” he told The Daily Mail.

City will look to make it four wins out of four Premier League games on Saturday, before taking on Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday.
