That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who believe the Blues outcast is set for his 6th different loan club. Bamford has previously appeared for MK Dons, Derby, Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace and Norwich.
It’s the Spanish newspaper with the story, as La Liga outfit Real Betis are also keen on signing Bamford for the new season. Betis were given Charly Musonda from the Blues on loan last year.
But it seems Celtic are closer to securing the loan deal, with Chelsea keen on Bamford gaining experience in the Scottish Premiership, and possibly UEFA Champions League should Celtic qualify, as opposed to the Spanish top-flight.
Bamford hasn’t played a Premier League game for Chelsea, and is still yet to score a goal in the top flight, failing for both Norwich and Palace last season.
But Brendan Rodgers, who previously worked in Chelsea’s youth set up, is keen to give the 22-year-old a chance to prove himself in Scotland.
