Queens Park Rangers increased their lead at the top of the Championship on Saturday, as Swansea slumped to a 1-0 loss at Scunthorpe.
QPR waited until the 88th minute to score the winner against a spirited Leicester side, with substitute Ishmael Miller drilling a shot past Leicester’s Portuguese goalkeeper Ricardo to steal the win.
Swansea, meanwhile, failed to maintain their excellent form of late when they slumped to a 1-0 loss at Glanford Park thanks to a 71st-minute strike from Scunthorpe’s Joe Garner.
The result means Cardiff have the chance to leapfrog Swansea into second place should they beat Ipswich in Saturday’s late game.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Nottingham Forest dropped to fifth when they lost 1-0 at home against Hull, while Norwich took fourth spot after their 1-1 draw with Preston.
Leeds United stayed in sixth position despite their emphatic 5-2 win over Doncaster Rovers, with Max Gradel and Jonathan Howson both scoring braces in an entertaining tussle.
Burnley enjoyed a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, lifting them to sixth place, and Bristol City cruised to a 4-1 win over Coventry.
Middlesbrough are just three points clear of the relegation zone after being thrashed 5-2 at the hands of Reading.
Ian Harte and Shane Long both scored doubles for Reading, adding to Hal Robson-Kanu’s opener, while Congolese striker Leroy Lita scored both goals for Boro.
Portsmouth climbed to 11th place with their 1-0 win over Sheffield United, and Watford moved into 12th position, helped by a Danny Graham goal six minutes after half-time to give them a 1-0 win over Millwall at Vicarage Road.
